I must admit that the city Vang Vieng itself is quite ugly but the villages and places around that touristic and dirty place are beautiful. Especially when you have a scooter, a lot of time and a good friend with you. On the 4.000 islands is really not much to do, a good place to relax even though there are no really proper beaches. Probably one of the most beautiful city I have ever been so far. Especially because of the amazing people I met there. The scenery around Luang Prabang is a really nice one and easy to explore by scooter what we did for the Kouangxi waterfalls as destination. That´s how my journey through Lao, Cambodia and Thailand started. Taking a domestic flight from Bangkok to Chiang Rai from there by bus crossing the Lao boarder near Houayxay. By slowboat in Houayxay down the mekong river, stopping for one night in Pakbeng where the journey by boat continues the next day along to Luang Prabang. #Lao #Mekong
